The purpose of this webinar is to share the story behind the story – where St Luke’s School has been, where it is now, and where it is headed.
Regardless of where you live or work, the stories and ideas that are shared will offer hope and inspiration make a bigger difference in your community.
We will be discussing the new and compelling Vision for St Luke’s School, Operation Compassion, the possibility of becoming an IB School, and what this means for you and your community.
————————————————————
A decade ago, St Luke’s School was thriving, dedicated to providing children with a quality education in a Christian environment. Students were tasked each year with striving for excellence in a rigorous academic program as well as providing support to various community and nationwide outreach programs.
But somewhere along the line, the School de-railed. The change was gradual, very subtle at first. So subtle, in fact, that we completely missed it and, as the years passed by, so too it seemed did our enthusiasm for the spirit of giving.
1) VISION/MISSION/CULTURE/VALUES.
By April 2011, we had reached an all-time low. Then through some seemingly random events, God helped us turn the corner. With divine intervention and guidance, St Luke’s experienced a rebirth of sorts with a new and compelling Vision and opportunity to impact orphans around the world.
Our new Vision at St Luke’s School is
- To be recognized as the leader in world-class education and an inspirational beacon in our community.
- To enrich students’ lives daily with truth, freedom of expression, and academic excellence in a Christ-centered, all-embracing, safe and caring family environment.
2) OPERATION COMPASSION: Developing a heart of compassion for orphans in the next generation
While getting crystal clear on who we are and where we’re heading, the idea for Operation Compassion was birthed in the Spring of 2011. We now believe that St Luke’s School will become a portal for ideas to impact orphans in our community and around the world.
The Concept is to spark & engage a lifelong compassion for orphans in the hearts & minds of children and their parents
The Deliverable will be …
- An army of children caring for orphans in practical, simple, ways who grow into adults who can take action
- A large alliance of schools creating awareness in children and parents about the importance of caring for orphans
- Empowered orphans becoming thought leaders in their communities and nations
3) INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE (IB) School
In addition, the School Board has a very exciting new direction to explore. We are considering the evolution of our dear school into an International Baccalaureate member school! The IB is renowned around the world to uphold the highest standards of education, best practices in teaching and latest research in curriculum.
It would take a three year process to grow towards international standards and accreditation. The St. Luke’s mission statement and philosophy and that of the IB correlate beautifully together. Our Christian foundation would stay in place. Our curriculum currently meshes quite nicely and, with some enhancements that the IB brings, would be recognized as the crème de la crème. STL would be focused on graduating students prepared to contribute to America and the global society.

Blessings to embrace and partner with what God is doing!

and how do you do it?

This is a wonderful, wonderful initiative for this school! I’m glad I got a chance to hear about it.
I am wondering about the plan for Operation Compassion. It makes sense to me to reach out to our neighbours first. I didn’t hear any mention of helping orphanages in Mexico, unless I missed it (if so, forgive me). If the language program includes Spanish as an obvious focus, doesn’t it make sense to go to Mexico? I see quite a need for healing between America and Mexico; perhaps this would help.
Part of our mission as a company is to raise the bar of education in Mexico. We believe doing this will help to heal many hurts and problems between the two countries and beyond.
That said, we have been connecting and working with at least three orphanages a few of many just in our area of Mexico. Furthermore, part of our mission as well is to work to make educatin mobile through offering online courses.
I’m so happy to know that God is bringing together initiatives in education all over the world. We need to take this mountain back!
Hi Beverly,
Thank you for watching the webinar about St Luke’s School and Operation Compassion and then sharing your comments.
You have sown good seed in good soil to bless Mexico. We’ll see how the Holy Spirit leads people.
Blessings,
Joseph
